Sunrisers Leeds (SRL) continued their remarkable run in The Hundred Men’s 2026 with a dominant 37-run victory over London Spirit (LNS) at Headingley on Tuesday. The contest featured a series of batting records, but one of the standout moments came in the second innings when wicketkeeper Ryan Rickelton pulled off a sensational diving catch to send James Rew back to the pavilion.

The South African wicketkeeper, who had earlier starred with the bat, showcased his brilliance behind the stumps by completing a sharp one-handed diving catch that quickly went viral across social media. His athletic effort further capped off a memorable outing for Sunrisers Leeds as they climbed into the top four of the points table.

Ryan Rickelton’s stunning catch removes James Rew

The moment arrived on the 26th ball of London’s chase with Rew looking to counterattack after coming to the crease. Matthew Potts bowled a back-of-a-length delivery that angled away from the left-hander, tempting him into an aggressive cut shot.

Rew managed only a thick outside edge, with the ball flying quickly to the left of Rickelton. The wicketkeeper reacted instantly, launching himself into a full-length dive before completing a superb one-handed catch just inches above the ground. The outstanding piece of wicketkeeping left both teammates and spectators applauding as Rew departed for just one run off three deliveries.

Sunrisers Leeds rewrite the record books

Earlier in the evening, Sunrisers Leeds produced one of the greatest batting displays in the history of The Hundred. Opening batters Rickelton and Mitchell Marsh dismantled the London Spirit bowling attack with a record-breaking opening partnership. Marsh smashed a blistering 76 off just 37 deliveries, while Rickelton remained unbeaten on a magnificent 94 from only 42 balls. Their 131-run stand became the highest partnership in the history of the men’s competition, while Sunrisers reached 119 without loss after 50 balls, another tournament record.

Harry Brook then added to London’s misery by hammering a breathtaking 55, including a 15-ball half-century that equalled the fastest fifty ever recorded in The Hundred. Sunrisers eventually finished on a mammoth 241/2, setting a new record for the highest team total in the competition.

In reply, London Spirit fought hard through David Willey’s unbeaten 83 and useful contributions from Liam Livingstone and Dewald Brevis, but the chase always remained out of reach. Reece Topley and Nathan Ellis struck crucial blows with the ball before Rickelton’s stunning catch added another highlight to an unforgettable performance, helping Sunrisers Leeds seal a comprehensive 37-run victory.

Sunrisers Leeds rack up a colossal 241/2 powered by Ryan Rickelton’s unbeaten 94* to secure a decisive 37-run win against London Spirit. What a display of pure hitting! 💪🔥#TheHundred #SunrisersLeeds #RyanRickelton #Cricket pic.twitter.com/2VgMH9IXz9
