Craig Melvin Blushes Through ‘Awkward’ Interview With Special Guest
Craig Melvin finally returned from an extended vacation. Savannah Sellers and Dylan Dreyer joined him to co-host the Today Show on Monday, August 3. They interviewed a very special guest during the morning news program.
Sports reporter Lindsay Czarniak joined them to promote a new project. She has a close connection to Craig Melvin: she’s his wife. They met in 2008 while working at a local TV station in Washington, D.C.
Craig Melvin and Lindsay Czarniak married in 2011 and share two children: Delano, 12, and Sybil, 9. Craig Melvin immediately addressed the elephant in the room at the start of the interview. “It’s always fun when you can interview your spouse. Not awkward at all,” he joked.
Lindsay Czarniak asked her husband if he felt “funny” interviewing her. Craig Melvin admitted that he did. However, he launched into helping her promote her new show. The sports reporter teamed up with retired NBA player Shaquille O’Neal for a true crime docuseries.
The six-part series, Game Day Murders, explores the connection between sports and high-profile murder cases. The series debuted on July 27. New episodes premiere on ID every Monday at 9 PM Eastern and stream on HBO Max the next day. Shaq is the show’s executive producer.
Today Co-Host Teases Him For Blushing
Craig Melvin’s co-stars got a kick out of his discomfort while interviewing his wife. Lindsay Czarniak told them that he gets “fidgety” when he’s uncomfortable. Dylan Dreyer jokingly asked Lindsay to stay on as co-host for the rest of the show after her interview. She said she would love to, while Craig Melvin yelled, “No!” to the idea.
As the interview wrapped up, Craig Melvin told his wife that he was proud of her. Dylan Dreyer joked that she loved to watch him “blush” around his wife. Viewers loved it, too. Check out some of the comments online:
