The Toronto Tempo acquired power forward Aneesah Morrow from the Connecticut Sun on Saturday. In return, the Sun received the rights of Maria Kliundikova and a second round pick in the 2028 WNBA Draft according to Chelsea Leite of TSN on Saturday.
Morrow played the last two seasons with the Sun. In 2026, she averaged 11.6 points per game, 8.9 rebounds per game, 1.7 assists per game and one steal per game. Morrow had a field goal percentage of .421, three point percentage of .284, and free throw percentage of .625.
The acquisition of Morrow means that there are seven players on the Tempo who are averaging a minimum of 10 points per game. All-Star guard Marina Mabrey is averaging 20.9 points per game, all-star guard Brittney Sykes is averaging 20.1 points per game, forward Isabelle Harrison is averaging 13.2 points per game, forward Nyara Sabally is averaging 12 points per game, rookie guard Kiki Rice is averaging 11. 8 points per game, and Lithuanian forward Laura Juskaite is averaging 10 points per game.
Toronto is currently at 10 wins and 19 losses. It has been a struggle for the Tempo as of late as they have only won one game in their last 10 games. That came on July 12 as they beat the New York Liberty by a score of 93-91 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
