    The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) said it is deploying investigators after two Cessna 172 aircraft crashed in mid-air on Monday near Chilliwack Airport.

    Five ambulances were dispatched to the area of Wolfe Road and Schweyey Road, according to B.C. Emergency Health Services.

    It said the call came in at about 5:15 p.m. PT and no patients were taken to hospital.

    The TSB, an independent agency with a mandate to advance transportation safety, said in a statement its team will arrive on site Tuesday afternoon to gather information and assess the crash.

    CBC News has reached out to RCMP, Chilliwack SAR and the Chilliwack Airport for more information.
